We are delighted to announce that Phoebe’s Wander Woman Podcast has been named as Best Broadcast in the Visit USA Media Awards.
Due to Covid-19 the ceremony was conducted over YouTube rather than live in a London venue – but you can see the moment it happened here at around 3.15.
Also shortlisted were comedian Billy Connolly’s Great American Trail and BBC Getaways.
“I’m utterly overwhelmed and delighted that my Wander Woman Podcast won,” says Phoebe. “It was an honour to be shortlisted with such great TV programmes – especially when you consider the monthly episodes are made just by myself and my friend and producer Daniel Neilson.”
“It was so great to be able to shine a spotlight on Florida’s little-known Sarasota County as well as Crystal River, and highlight activities like bird-watching, hiking, shark tooth diving and snorkelling with the endangered manatees – given that most people, as I did, normally only associate the Sunshine State with amusement parks.”
“My hearty thanks goes to the judges, but more importantly to both the people who are prepared to speak to me on my travels for the podcast and of course all the listeners who share my adventures with me. Finally a massive thanks to my podcast partners Rohan who made creating my vision for the first audio travel magazine that is Wander Woman possible.”
